Play for All Abilities ParkA Brief History

It took five years to build Play for All Abilities Park with the help of a community-wide effort. Dennis and Kenneth approached the City of Round Rock in 2006 to apply for a Boundless Playground Outdoor Grant. The city did not award the grant to these two citizens. But the City Council made the project part of the Parks Master Plan.

After two years, Marge Tripp and Sunrise Rotary organization approached the City to propose installing a unique adaptive swing designed for children with autism. The city agreed to that project but remembered the playground grant application.

The City started the park plan development that will provide all children with an opportunity to develop skills and play in a fun environment, regardless of ability. From there, this park project became a community-wide effort.

And the original Play for All Abilities Park was opened on March 3, 2012.
